Common questions
Honest answers to the questions homeowners actually ask.
If your question isn't here, that's exactly the kind of thing we'd want to talk through. Reach out — we'd rather have a real conversation than send you a brochure.
What is a Home Protection Review, exactly?
A Home Protection Review is a documentation-led look at the roof
and the home concerns you've noticed. We come on site, capture
drone documentation of the roof, walk the related concerns, and
produce a written report with photos, observations, and a
recommended next step. It's the starting point for every Garza
relationship — whether or not a project ever happens.
Is the review the same as an insurance inspection?
No. A Home Protection Review documents visible conditions for the
homeowner. Coverage decisions are made by the insurance carrier
and/or licensed adjuster — not by us. We don't determine,
negotiate, or interpret coverage. If your concern involves a
claim, the report can be useful documentation, but the carrier
process remains between you and them.
What if I just want a price for a repair?
That's fine — we can help with repair and replacement work. We
still recommend starting with a Home Protection Review so the
scope is documented before pricing. Otherwise the price
conversation is built on a guess, and homeowners end up comparing
quotes that aren't actually for the same scope.
Do you only look at the roof?
No. The roof is usually the entry point, but a Home Protection
Review is whole-home aware. We document related concerns —
comfort, efficiency, exterior openings, leak indicators, and
remodel-adjacent items — because home decisions usually touch
more than one thing.
How long does the review take?
Most reviews take 30 to 45 minutes on site, depending on the home
and the concerns. The written report typically follows separately
so the documentation is organized and readable rather than
rushed.
Will you tell me what insurance owes me?
No. That's a coverage question — and coverage decisions are made
by the insurance carrier and/or licensed adjuster. We document
visible conditions. If your situation calls for claim
negotiation, the right person for that conversation is a licensed
public adjuster or an attorney who handles homeowner insurance
matters.
What happens after the review?
You receive the written report. From there, the next step is up
to you. If a project is warranted, we can scope repair,
replacement, or restoration work. If a specialist (HVAC,
structural, environmental, etc.) is the right next step, we'll
tell you. If no action is needed, we'll say that too.
Do you handle remodel work too?
Yes — restoration and remodeling are part of what we do. The
Home Protection Review can also help on the front end of a
remodel: surfacing related concerns that quietly affect the
project plan before the budget is locked in.
What areas do you serve?
Phase 1 is focused on Chattanooga, Tennessee, and the surrounding
area. If you're nearby and not sure whether you're in our service
area, ask — the answer is usually yes if you can reach us by
phone in a reasonable conversation.
What does it cost?
Pricing depends on what you need. The starting conversation is
a Home Protection Review — reach out and we'll walk through the
options. We'll always be upfront about what's included before
anything begins.
Are you a public adjuster?
No. Garza Roofing and Restoration is a roofing, restoration, and
remodeling company. We document visible conditions and provide
contractor-side scope information. Public adjusters are licensed
to negotiate insurance claims on a homeowner's behalf — that's a
different role. If a situation calls for that kind of
representation, we can point you toward someone who handles it.
What if I just want to talk to a person first?
Call us at (423) 556-7116. A real
conversation about your concern is often the fastest way to
figure out whether a Home Protection Review even makes sense for
your situation.
